I used the Euro 1 product code, which is the best generic European code.
It is
0534841
Here are all the codes for reference
You'll notice that there are 2 different codes for many regions, they are simply for the 2 alternative colours, i.e, Sand and Silver, or Plum and Silver.
You can use either one, it makes no odds

hey
where in Glasgow did you take the handset to? what service centre? Also i might be a bit slow here, but whats a product code? and what are the advantages and disadvantages of changing the product code? and how can that be done? changing the code? is i done at the service centre? does it void the warrany etc?
thanks in advance

I took it to the service centre calledTRS, near Glasgow Airport.
The product code is in effect the Nokia equivalent of the SE CDA number, a code embedded on the flash memory of the phone that identifies it to the software server that dictates the software version to upload the phone, i.e, generic, branded etc etc.
Ultimately yes it kills the warrenty, but if you have any sense you change it back before sending it for warrenty, and 99.9% of the service techs, won't notice/ don't care/ are not bothered (delete as appropriate)
You need to download a program called Nemesis Service Suite (NSS), to change the product code. It's free to download and use, and you can find it using google very easily.
