Sounds like a good idea. I can offer my web space which has 1.5GB of storage and unlimited bandwidth.

As I am an ASP.NET developer I could easily create a site that allows you to fill in a form with details about the file and a control to upload it. Doing it that wsy would mean the site could have a search page and more.

FTP is also an option but I guess most people would prefer a nice frontend.

The site could also have a membership system so only registered users can post files.

Let me know if this sounds ok?
