Right im a bit confused now, it keeps saying there is no new update, hmm
It says my Current FW version is 10.0.018

Is there anyway to check if my phone is branded?
I mean there is nothing on the actually phone and no start up or shut down screen or anything but maybe

It is but if you are unbranding a phone, you cannot use your backup after you have updated the firmware. you can of course install all your apps again and sync back your contacts and calendar entries.

@revolution3, was your V95 on voda, o2 or Orange?

@floatlite, "exactly" at what point should you change back the product code and how? Once the phone is flashed and restarted, won't it boot with the modified product code and screw up the phone. :-S

once its flashed and restarted, change the product code back, it will start up fine after rebooting.

So i let the phone startup as normal after flashing, then turn it off from the power button and change the code? Right?

Sorry, After flashing, my understanding of the restart is it will start up the phone and as the product code is incorrect "Phone start up failed, contact retailer".

Just dont want to screw up my phone....

Some people got "Phone start up failed, contact retailer" so the resolution is to change the code back to the original.

Once you change the product code and flash the phone, therby debranding it, it'll finish the update, and then automatically restart. Once this happens, I strongly suggest you connect it to nss and return the product code to the original one.

The reason for this is if the phone ever crashes, or cannot be started in the future and it has to be returned to nokia, the codes all are correct, if you don't and they realise, they can invalidate your warrenty.

The code is only ever used by NUS, it is not used day to day by the phone, therefore has no effect on the phone. You simply need to change it everytime you use NUS (it only takes minutes to change it ever time).

As for back ups, never ever mix back ups accross firmware version / product codes. The back ups are for the specific product code version, and it may/will corrupt the fresh firmware.
