this is definately not the p990i replacement so i'll be looking forward from SE to come out with the actual p series phone and not the replacement of m600i which is tagged into p series...!!

How can you be so sure that P1i is NOT the replacement for P990i?

As I see it I cannot really find anything the P990i does that the P1i doesn't do or even do better... (except that the P990i is much bigger... )

I'm on a V630 phone at the moment after several years on a P900.
The P900 died on me last Summer, so I'll definitely be looking at the P1 when my contract comes around for renewal.

Must admit I'm not used to a keyboard on the phone. The keys on the P990 look a little small for my liking yet the M600/P1 style keyboard seems like it may take some getting used to.

Guess I'll have to spend some time in a shop trying a real unit come Q3

Yeah...not only mine, but check batesie recents posts, MR posts, etc

This has been discussed alot, but has nothing to do with the P1 being a great phone, and a efective upgrade for p990 users that can afford it and like the type of design

you guys that are going to get one are crazy in my opinion...

whats new about it?

Its the same phone as a p990 with more memory, slightly better camera and no flip...gezzuz....thats innovation for you.

guaranteed there will be a time in the next 12 months when so many of you are going to say 'i wish i had waited'.

now that the p990 is stable and solid, its a pointless handset to release now....in 6 months time some of the features on this will look tired and dated FFS
