is there even such a thing as a fake m600? it just seems ridiculous to me? I doubt any1 can make a phone cheaper than the original manufacturer.
I am not so sure I ended up with a fake HBH DS760 headset from ebay and I thought "how can it be worth their while" but they do got my money back though so I am happy . All I have to do now is take my genuine one back to Orange as its falling to bits after 2 weeks of use! the neck strap has split letting the wires hang out.

if you got a HBH DS760 it definitly was a fake...
but I suspect you mean HBH-DS970
my M600 label under the battery is worn now and cannot be read, and the label on the box doesn't say where it was made

Hey LeeG. If you're still wondering if your M600i is a fake or not, send SE an email including your IMEI number and they can check it with their database.
Also, if you can register at SE.com, then it shouldn't be fake. I was skeptical about my K800i silver being fake too, cuz all the silver K800i pics online had a black camera lens, whereas mine is a dark metallic silver, so I sent SE an email.
They came back to me saying my phone is definitely 100% real, and the fact I can register online with the IMEI confirms this too!

Hi all,
Just bought a M600i from ebay and i think its a fake. Got it from china and it seems to work ok, but the screen seems really poor compared to my K800i and the speaker phone is really bad to. Has anyone hear of fakes coming out of china! (they copy everything don't they!) and is there an easy way to tell?
Cheers
Lee.
I had a fake from China before, and I knew it was fake because when I sent it for service at an authorized service center, they informed me the device failed every single standard test performed on it, even the build of the phone was changed, where they swapped metal parts with plastic. Stormed back to the place where I got the phone from and got an original replacment. From my experience, I'd never buy a phone with funny characters on the keypad, because while it might very well be genuine, the chances for me to buy a fake increases IMO
