a 1.2 is even more economical.
is it??? i get no more than 250 miles out of mine..
but then again i drive like a maniac!!
I used to have a 1.2 and the worst i got was about 325 miles to a tank and my foot was normally to the floor.

Our car's claim is 46mpg but in reality, it's lucky if it gets to 38mpg. But it's still good and the fuel tank is decent sized.

Liking what you guys are suggesing
although I won't be going for a corsa, I had one for a week or 2 whilst mine was in shop and it was a nice car, with some cool extras, but it didnt feel as sturdy as my astra... and felt a bit cheap... et it was the 2006 model. Had nice handeling mind but lagged power and I think it was a 1.2 or 1.4

I have a 2005 model year (not the current shape) 1.4 and is quicker than any other 1.4 that I could find (0-60 in 10.3 seconds), it is definately not sluggish. The new shape is slower as it is a lot bigger (about the same as a MK2/3 astra).

You mean this shape, JC(think it's officially the Mk.4/Astra 'G')??.....
(ok, maybe not quite that shape)
....ahh, you mean the one after this(Mk.5/Astra 'H'), don't you....nevermind....
(got a gratuitous supercar pic in, the best Astra ever)
