As far as we know its locked...just waiting to find out if someone can unlock it?

Ok i see, because i was looking on the US apple site and you can get them there but delivered to an address in the states. So if i was to get one it would just be the $500/$600?

So now the question is weather or not it will be able to get it unlocked, i really want one now, and its not that badly priced, im sure when it comes to the Uk it will be more expensive.

Yes indeed, The U.K version will be of a much better spec, 3G for starters.
I would wait till monday for some official news on the european release of the iphone to get a much better picture of what we will be getting.

guys.. iphone uses a sim card that can be removed... but you have to activate the phone with itunes before it can be used...
also it will be unlockable via code...which i have a few people saying they can get in 24 hours for a fee... but i'm stilling waiting to get my hands on a locked iphone...

i'm hearing more chaos now... the iphone is built of the same principles as a sidekick... everything has to be preregistered to work so unlocking is only half the battle... i'm still digging info... but i don't think a lot will be cleared up till the dust settles..
