Wow I ha doubts about the productivity of these huge threads. I was surprise to se that one of them got someone an award, 'the camera driver' thread. I gues that we never see eye to eye. Hands high and hail to the authour.

It may not be productive for you, but it's sure as shit productive to the people who use camera drivers.
This thread represents the most up to date knowledge available outside of SE regarding SE camera driver development. Infact there are even things the camera driver modders have achieved that SE never bothered with (enhanced night mode for example)
The difference in noise between the enhanced night mode and non-nightmode are incredible, but SE never wanted to make this available to the end use because it would mean people will take blurred photos and they don't want anything to reflect on their product).

Nothing wrong with threads running into thousands of posts, and yeah, the Search option is there, agreed. However, if there's something specific a member wanted to know, there'd be nothing wrong with starting another thread, i think. It would inevitably be locked or gracefully decline into inactivity once the question had an appropriate answer. Rather have two topics with the same subject than no topic at all... (as Laffen once said, if memory serves...)
