Class just because of a couple of pence worth of sticker? You must be joking!
Dude, what's with the sticker thing!? There's no sticker on Cyber-shot phones. The Cyber-shot logo is embedded in the housing of the phone with silver characters on the front below the screen and on the camera shutter on the back (or directly on the back-side of the housing like on the K810).

From an aesthetic point of view, I agree with Nightblade, the cybershot branding is classy. But it's not the branding that makes the phone a cybershot. The fact is, the sensor is CMOS (all but one Sony Cybershot use ccd), and the sensor and lense quality are not comparable to mainstream Cybershot cameras.
The cybershot camera phones are still just camera phones with cybershot branding, not cybershot cameras in a phone.
That said, I actually reckon the K800 photos are still the best available from any camera phone on the market. A little bit better than the K750 (only due to higher resolution, otherwise I'd say overall K750 is the best), and way better than any Nokia camera phone, even the N95. The N95 like all Nokia camera phones uses an unacceptably high level of compression.

While the K750i s results are excellent, I would still rate the 2.0mp CCD of the W900i above it. I have some outstanding shot taken with it, highly underated as a camera-phone and way better than the 2.0mp cam in the K550i.
I wouldn't say Cyber-shot camphones are judged on the quality of the lens alone. As a package, with Bestpic and Fotofix, image stabilisaton etc, the Cyber-shot package of extras also stands it apart from the rest and do make a difference to the user.

And I also agree that cyber-shot cameras cannot be compared with cyber-shot cameraphones (Ok, let's confess, one way or another, we kind of can compare them).

W900 has a 2.0 MP CMOS camera NOT a CCD. Only S700 has a CCD

The W900 was a sort of S700 replacement maybe that's what got you?
Imho, w900 is equivalent to K750 (infact I think it shares the same camera module)

Its called BRAND NAME recognition. (Marketing 101). ppl are familiar with a brand they know works for them & that they trust make quality products - again for THEM - then they tend to STICK with that brand. Many ppl continue to buy Nokia low end phones. price is competitive against &/for other manufacturers - and mid-tier phones same thing but ppl know the S40 UI and don't wanna go to an SE or worse Motorola phone and learn it all over again. Worse, which we'll see more of is that synchronization of information that we use to make calls, appts, notes, etc don't work without Outlook as the primary tool that the data is sourced from.

we shouldn't compare the camera phones to the digital cameras out in the market. even though it is branded as a cybershot, this doesn't mean that its will give you the same picture quality as the cybershot digital camera that is out in the market. The name should only help distinguish the better features of the phone compared to the other mobile phones in the market.

Depends on Geographical location & what a person NEEDS.
Me I'll begin working mobile shortly and will be working with files on my laptop quite frequently in my commute. Although I'll be upgrading to a BB with WiFi it doesn't have 3G. My provider does - wherever I'll be communiting about. However, the K850 offers a perfect upgrade to my 2 mth old K790.
Camera upgrade. Sorry many ppl THINK that 5MP is not significant to a 3.2; then just try to PRINT those 3.2 pics on a 10x11 photo quality paper, blurred parts of an image WILL stand out. Sure 3.2MP on a digicam will suffice at this range, I wouldn't trust even my 3.2MP K790 to have a quality clear photo at this range.
3G TriBAND and QUAD BAND GSM/GPRS/EDGE!
3G Rogers has; using my phone as a modem on my upcoming MBP laptop will be PERFECT! Nuff said. Yes 3G is new to us Canadians so don't poke fun. I'll also be able to use Video Calling on a quality phone, not some low-end Samsung.
My investment in M2 and in MicroSD - Blackberry - will not be in vain
Most of us go through phones like high school girls go through fashion - and not to the same manufacturer for various reasons.
That said I only crave SE's implementation of UIQ3.1 Non-Touchscreen
