So genious how do you suppose would be the quickest entry of data in tables or fields or even a long 3+ paragraph email WITHOUT a keypad?!
* man some minds are just too focused! Do you imagine a little stick will be quick and tapping on a screen? HTC Touch has the keypad removed like the p3350 but the bulk of their lineup has full qwerty for a specific reason.
no them o2 phones and the sidekicks have the keyboard underneath on a slide that would be cool, i mean whats the point in having a great phone that is also good for multimedia when the screen is small because of the keypad you got on it.

There are a lot of people, including myself, who want a flip. You could always take it off if you don't want it...
There are also a lot of people who don't use their phones as an iPod but as a professional device. Hence the different versions to suit different tastes. The "P" series has traditionally been a professional phone/PDA with specific features which have proven themselves over time.

What we've seen with the P1 is simply the P990 taking on a new (and popular) form factor...
That is your personal opinion. It's not as popular as you would like to believe.

Oh, it's not? So they've chosen to base their latest phone on an unpopular form factor? Righto...
It's funny that you're attempting to chide me on the way I express my opinion, when essentially your argument seems to be "this form factor can't be popular with any other people because
I don't like it..."
Of course the reality is that something can be immensely popular without either of us liking it at all...

That first image looked somthing like the iphone or more recently Nokias "iphone". Will SE be doing something like that?
Id be quite happy just with a P1i type phone with the following specs.
16Mil colour screen
5mp AF camera
VGA Video
WIFI
HSDPA
Are any of these specs likley for the "p3"?

I totally agree with that. On the other hand, just because SE (or someone else) decides to go with something does not necessarily mean that it is very popular. There are a lot of people who do not like the keyboard of the P1, there are also probably a comparable number who do like it, same goes for the flip.
Anyway, that is why there are different models, so we can choose what we like. I'm just pointing out that it's wrong to assume and impose that one is better than the other.
Granted, the P1 seems to temporarily enjoy a greater popularity because it is the latest toy. So when the P990 successor comes and it blows everything away (assuming it does) should we be saying it has the best form factor? I may, because I like it, you may disagree as you prefer the other and we would both be right.
So, in short, no absolutes, just personal opinions and everyone should be happy.

Don't forget inbuild GPS...
S/E has to match the (and even be better than ) features of other manufactors such as the HTC TYTN II...

looks fake to me!
most of the leaked specs states that the screen has a VGA resolution. but you see from the picture that the screen has a 9:16 aspect ratio (VGA is 3:4)
and if you look closely to the reflection of the letters (SE123) you can see that the refelection is in the wrong way; meaning a quick photoshoped work.
and ...... the photoshoper forgot to design/copy paste the jog dial button.
the indicator light on top of the screen is not real.
and if it is thiner than the P990 and want to have AF on camera i think it shouldnt be in slider formfactor.
P3i definitly EXISTs but not this one.

@Makbil - I have to agree with you. I own both the P990i and P1i and prefer having the flip. One of the major advances IMHO with UIQ3 was the greater access to more functions in FC mode, meaning that I do not always have to take out the stylus to perform basic functions. One handed operation for tasks such as sending a message in FC mode is faster than with the P1i.
