I'm generally very pleased with my P1i. After 7 years with Nokia this is my first SE and I thought LONG AND HARD before making the switch. The build quality of the N-Series put me off staying with them, nothing else. The Nokia smartphones have all the features I need. However, the P1i is the best phone on the market for me at the moment. The way I see it:
Strengths:
Decent if not spectacular build quality
Form factor
Qwerty keypad
Reasonable camera
Hefty RAM
Touch screen
Battery life
Low SAR
Quite fast for a Symbian handset
Weaknesses:
As with most phones on the market, the build quality isn't PERFECT. I have the odd squeak here and there but generally is is OK and better than most.
Troublesome wifi and 'b' only
Quirky UI
Green tinge on lower r.h.s. of photos
Not so many apps available for UIQ 3
All in all though, a good phone and as I said, it is the best one for me on the market at the moment at any price. The N95 is fantastic on paper but the build quality turns me off. Plus the battery life is very bad.

pfft. Don't forget that if you have fat, grubby fingers, the phone is useless for everyone else. Why, the lack of a REAL mobile keyboard similar to that on my bob the builder phone is a terrible DISASTER for the entire phone industry. Or are you just blind to all the MAJOR design flaws with the phone, eh, SE fanboy!

@marc I don't think I said anything offensive to you or called you a liar in my last post are you sure you read it right? All I'm saying is for me all of the bugs found in that thread are minor and not a big deal in my book
Feel free to call me names makes me feel loved LOL

Actually he said that 'you' are a liar, cause your post starts with '..wrote:' and u 'seem' to have quoted words which obviously don't belong to him.
Misunderstanding due to typing mistake, I guess

Crikey what a lot of fuss and bother!
At the end of the day any review is only as good as the reviewer, MobileBurn was once held up to me by someone on this site "as the only review site worth looking at" who knows why the P1 got a poor review? only the reviewer, I suggest those who really want to know email him or her to find out?
Personaly my experience's with the P1 (So Far) are not that great, the SIM Free Unit supplied to me by Expansys would not attach to 3g or GPRS on either T-Mobile or Vodafone in the UK or Europe so it had to go back (I am still waiting for my money back though)
I Personaly think it has a lot to do with quality control, the pouch supplied with mine was full of glue and the back was a bit creaky (typical poor build quality by

again)
I am not supprised the networks do not seem to be queing up to stock the P1 the P990i debacle did not help

's reputation (vodafone were passing all their support onto

directly they were getting so many calls each day)and the poor quality control issue will not be convincing the op's they are not in for another beating from their customers.
Like I keep saying ":SE: start building them better or we will go elsewhere" Seems like I am not alone.

Actually, you see, you are alone. Since it's impossible for any of us to agree with a statement like "we want better phones". That's just such an outrageously steep demand that if any other were to say it, why, we'd be shamed for life simply because of our reverence for SE and all their products - god bless them. Indeed, such incredible heresy as "the build quality should be better" is simply unheard of. Such incredible slander. Why, if I wasn't shocked to the core that someone could even say it, I'd have Words for you.
..that being said - if I hear anyone say "we all know the build- quality of the phone is crap", without going into specifics one more time - I swear I'm going to snap..
Seriously, what is it? The jog- wheel? The back- panel? The buttons? The screen? The frame? The keyboard? I'll give you the colours aren't exactly awesome, and the pouch has glue in the seam. What else?

the reviewer has been using te P1i for over a month to dislike it. here at esato it is impossible to look at SE from a neutral point of view, no matter how you claim to *not* be an SE fan.
the P1i has indeed retained most problems on the M600i, and obviously they have not solved it.
there might be an epilogue to the review later, as the rest of the mobileburn team will test the P1i individually as well, but don't expect the rating to jump.

And those "problems on the m600i" are? Just to be clear on this - I'm not asking you to assess mine or anyone else's neutrality regarding SE phones - I'm asking you to explain what the problem is with the phone.
Think you can do that?
(on the wiki, too, perhaps, if you don't mind).

whoops i see it now... and it's been removed.. i was quoting and deleted the quote and wrote @marc.. guess i left in the word "quote" by accident...either way i think if you read the context or follow the thread i think most people would have understood my post....
because "@ marc quote" doesn't reallly make sense does it?????
i blame it on my iphone lol... it's too hard to see multiple lines while typing...

problems??? in design? UI implementation? or bugs? i'm not clear on what you mean...if it's UI implementation i don't think SE would change it unless they went from ground up again...

The word was 'wrote', not 'quote'
Anyway, no problem for me, cause I understood it.
I was just trying to clarify and think I did
