I agree with the AF part.
About the HSDPA one - they are already starting to do that
I mean, K850, W910 and W960 have HSDPA. If they stick to this trend, then that means that all new high-end mobiles will have it.
w960 doesn't have hsdpa, only umts (like P1)

EDGE is a must. What ever you say doesnt change the fact.
Why dont they just remove GPRS then? Its more outdated than EDGE

EDGE is not a must. It's inferior to both UMTS and HSDPA. Better build those networks.
However, GPRS is a standard. Yes, I agree that it can be replaced by EDGE, but for the countries that have UMTS and HSDPA, it's totally unnecessary.
However, 3G IS a must for the high-end phones.
IMO, all high-end phones should be able to make video calls.

My country can't provide these facilities(inly gprs and edge, and that too crap). They have to think about developing countries too.

Funny, if Nokia can think about developing countries and provide EDGE, why cant SE? The later needs more countries under its belt where as Nokia is already the king.

Of course Sony Ericsson has EDGE.
BUT, it's natural that it's high-end phones use more advanced technologies.
(I'm not saying that some of them don't have EDGE).

Well don't ask me.
BTW, this is turning into a very intriguing thread. Congrats to the starter!

Mode made an interesting point there. Even Sony Ericsson used to be innovators in their early days, with the S700 and K750. Now all they are doing is trying to just make 'emotional desgn' phones, all because of Sony's influence. And we also have to pay extra for brand names. (I like my K800, and the K810, and the W800/810/900 though)
