The Purple one looks awesome

A very good W300 succesor. I'm pretty sure it'll sell quite a lot

It's really nice that they allow users to pick M2 or MicroSD and use 176x220 resolution screen for a low end phone. Some innovative features, but it does look a little thick for its specs

nice cosmetics (looks). economics aside, SE should have made it 2.0mp with AF... its the only downside that i could see atm. except for these, i'm pretty convinced this would sell. seems like another breakthrough (albeit, low-end) Walkman unit in the horizon for SE

they are headphones..... well sorta... they're the hpm-64 Bass Reflex ones.... similar design to hpm-60/62, but with more bass, better q etc... maybe similar to hpm-70 just not in-ear i haven't used them

This is VERY VERY good for SE.

Although many providers picked up the W300 Clam & the Z710 neither sold that well here in North America ... heavily subsidized; almost giving away free. (yes this is VERY uncommon here). I highly doubt SE made any tangible profits from those contracted credit sales.

However this will change.

I believe the W380i will bring in same MAJOR cheddar ($$, Cash/Quid) to SE! If they can get AT&T & Rogers to offer this by Xmas it'll be a HUGE blowout; but its most likely they'll miss out because of stupidity of product announcement so late. I love this design and finally its official. PK was right it looks IDENTICAL to the spy prototype from some odd 8mths ago. I almost feel this should've been out for back to school but they internally delayed production intentially for the K850i to be shipped.

This will improve their coffers ... and for those with a K850i / W890i this will be a decent backup / camping / pub-night drinker phone lol!

Cheers.

PS - this is my daughters phone as an upgrade to the z520 (my old SE phone).

Probably the most exciting thing in a run-of-the-mill handset like the W380 is the added gesture control (seen previously in the Sony Ericsson W910).

Whaa err? w910 has gesture control?where what ive been dreamin *delusional*
