Well it seems my problems continue and now have escalated to a new level.
I just had my first auto-reboot when receiving a call and now I can't make a backup anymore. Backup fails even before it starts.
This freaks me out, as my P1 was super-stable until now!
I've used the fonty3.zip on a link above, really nothing special...
I've booted without M2 and regular fonts returned, but the backup still fails.
I'm not sure what to do. Should I Format and restore the last backup?
This is really weird...

i used the z8 fonts ares posted link to earlier in this thread, not the fonty.zip. Was going to try the fonty's, to see if got the missing virtual keyboard chars (backspace, shift and return chars) but if these were cause of your probs, maybe not? My p1i has been fine since installed the z8 fonts last thu - not done a backup since then though. Hope u get prob sorted, happy xmas!

The missing chars appear with fonty charset. The one that was posted after the original charset, cause the original link is dead. What is this updating problem? It can't be font related...That would be just...weird

I have tried these fonts on my M600i:
- Moto Z8 default font: sexy, nice, but too small.
- Calibri : still, too small.
- Series60 Sans : nice
- Myriad : nice too
Cheers.
P. S. Talking about fonts, I guess P1i isn't far different from M600i.

Somehow my P1 seems to have acceptet the Z8 font without more struggle.
The Z8 font is a bit too small but usable nevertheless, and I find it very convenient to browse the web using the standard browser, as more text fits horizontally.

The Z8 font is so much better than the SE one it should almost be made illegal for SE to use their, frankly, ugly one!! Once you've replaced it, any UIQ device suddenly looks classier, and you can fit more text on screen without having to select small text, which is still big and blocky.
It makes me wonder when either Nokia or SE/Motorola will see fit to include font settings in their user interfaces, like RIM does with the BlackBerry. Some people want small text, some want big clear writing. GIVE THEM THE CHOICE!!

@jmcomms
I believe you are over reacting. The P1 default font is more readable than the Z8 font (it's less compact), but I agree that in some interfaces like the web browser the Z8 font is better.
Also remember that the P1 screen is smaller than the P990.

Yes, I was slightly over reacting when I said the other font should be made illegal.
Seriously though, the SE font isn't great. The Motorola one might not be the best one in the world, but there are many, many fonts out there that SE could use. That's why the best option is to give end users a choice.
