> P1i not support WPA2 and 802.1X ?

Another thing I found today which surprised me.
While on the train to work, I randomly tried to connect to various wifi's along the way. For some t asked for the passphrase right away.
When I got to office, I scanned for my network and tried to connect without creating a new account. It asks for a WEP key!!!
Now why would that be? Why would it ask me for a WEP for my office network while it asks for a passphrase everywhere else where required?
What is it not being able to detect?

i would hate to have to go someplace and not be able to use the wifi..

Also spent half an hour with SE support. They say its either:
1) Issue with router.
2) Compatibility between router and phone which they cannot guarantee since its a third party thing.
3) They say there is nothing wrong with the phone's wireless otherwise it wouldn't connect using WEP at home or unsecured networks either.
I don't get it. Do I have to live like this as long asI have the phone??? Just because I bought it anc can't return it now.

Classic. It's technically correct - but utterly and completely unhelpful. And nowhere would they even consider looking at the implementation.
..I'm actually pretty good at the peroxide- explosives, you know..

Any ideas of how to make it work? Is it a firmware issue? hardware issue?
what can i do to make it work?

Only thing I can think of is a firmware upgrade on the wlan. Perhaps there also were wep keys set earlier on. On some routers that means they're transmitted on the handshake together with the other keys - so maybe that's part of the problem enough to get it fixed..

My P1i also connects happily to the wirless network at home, which is WPA-PSK using AES.
But at work, I cannot connect to the network which is WPA-PSK using TKIP.
The phone connects, but unable to acquire an IP address. (It gets the weird 169.254.x.x) The state of the network stays disconnected.
The strange thing is, if I recall correctly, I was able to connect at work..
