Im from an Irish catholic family though i dont go to church much these days cos of busy life. But i do pray and deep down i dont believe in any particular religion. I believe their is some sort of afterlife and believe that WE ARE ALL ONE RACE WHICH IS THE HUMAN RACE AND WE WERE ALL PUT HERE ON THE SAME PLANET. I BELIEVE WE ARE ALL PROBABLY GOING TO GO TO THE SAME PLACE BUT WE ARE JUST NOT MEANT TO KNOW BEFORE WE DIE. I believe in something but think all religions are just man made. Why would we all be put on the same planet as the same human race but all have different gods.

Fatreg, no one is saying there has never been wars over religion, but my point is, religion has kept a balance and made the world much more stable than what it would be with out it

Actually if you really go back in relation to this war and how it started, was because the Egyptian closure of the Strait of Tiran to Israeli shipping in 1946 I believe.
Its gone on for so long media has made up stories yeah throw in religion to spice it up be that was not the cause. This has been going on for nearing 62 years man, I think alot of them have forgotten what they fighting about its just become second nature and war can affect the minds of people (Vietnam)

What did that have to do with religion though?

Because contained with Israel is Jerusalem, and Christians believe it's their spiritual home and Muslims also believe the same...

Muslims owned the land from many years before Isreal came into existance. The land was hijacked illegally and has been supported by the West. Jews, Christians and Muslims were living there for many years in peace because the land is significant to all three religions. It was never an issue. A lot of Muslims see this as a religious war because they are desperate for help from the fellow Muslims i.e. Saudi, Egypt etc. who could easily stop this. Muslims have a duty to help everyone from China to the person who simply needs directions. Palestinians and in a desperate situation.
The disaster in China was natural so could not be avoided, but the Palestine problem is man made and after the 60 years of slaughter and massacre, God is their only refuge and if He can make them happy for even a minute, so be it.

If we are predestined to all go to the same place after death (I assume Heaven from your comment), people knowing that fact would do whatever they felt like i.e. murder, rape etc. If you know that you are not going to be punished for a sin, you will sin all day long. The fear of God and punishment is why the world is still in one piece.

basically everyones missing the point... it doesnt matter as to race, religion, politics, sexual preference etc. everyone has hopes, fears, dreams, thoughts, feelings .. and is human regardless. yet people fail to comprehend that and engage in pointless fighting and senseless slaughter of those who are "different" . as to what christianity has given the world lets see-the crusades , the inquisition the war in the mid east, censorship
