Strange that those W760 pictures look much better than those from e.g. c902, which is supposed to be a cybershot.

SE are finally on the right track with good colour saturation and contrast. Why they choose not to give this to the cyber-shot range is beyond me.

I'm sorry but I don't believe SE are dumb enough/nasty enough to CHOOSE not to give thier cybershot phones good quality camera software. Product development is ongoing and sometimes a significant improvement makes it into the first model that comes along or is trialled in a lower volume model. We must remember that photo quality is subjective and that an amatuer photographer can limit a cameras effectiveness just as a poor camera can limit a professional photographers results. If the photographer who took these photos is experienced, owns several high-end digital cameras and (even better) works for Sony Ericsson, then instead of posting statements questioning his integrity such as "if they are from the phone after all" why not try and find out what he's doing that others here aren't.
From the photos I've seen on review sites, I don't expect to see anything up to this standard anytime soon, and wouldn't be judging a phone on review pics, that's for sure.

Good on ya Plankgatan for finding these photos and showing Esatonians that they can still have faith in the quality of thier SE camphones. I hope the upcoming W980 produces shots like this, if so I'll be very impressed.

maybe you right. its some easy photo tricks.....example dark (black) cars is really easy to get good, they nearlly allways becomes sharp. (oposite to example trees or wide landscape who is more difficult to get sharp)

CORRECTION: Examply dark (black) cars is really easy to get good, they nearly always become sharp. (opposite FOR example trees or wide landscape WHICH is more difficult to get sharp).

Plankgatan, no disrespect mate. I'm aware English is NOT your first language, and its very complex when your mother tongue is structured very differently from English. If I come across as being anal or nitpicky, I'm sorry but that is NOT my intension. My intension is just to help you and others along, as I'm getting help with francais. A language I should've pursued further in High School.

Great pictures btw, did you purchase a W760i?? Where?!

these photos coming from a fixed-focus SE camera-phone are indeed stunning (at least saturation-wise).. i still can't believe that they were taken by the W760!!!

@ plank,

did you take the pics with the Picture quality set at normal or fine?
400-500kb of a 3mp pic is a little bit compressed much.

k800/k810/t650 outputs 800-900kb btw
and w890 outputs pic with 1mb-1.5mb file size! wow, lower jpeg compression first time ive seen in an SE phone
