My P1 is so good that I decided to keep it until 2009. Only if P5 comes with improved procesor maybe I change my mind but for now P1 works like a charm. I started to create power point presentations on it (with a new quick office), watch you tube (fantastic), and do every business task I need (with P5 new procesor I would expect more speed and handle of much larger files), so there is no point to go to wm or anything else (Nokia is out of question as their flagship is mere multimedia phone).

Wrong world pal:)
No offence but I have to say that sounds like the very defeatest, led by the nose attitude that lazy manufacturers and developers are counting on ...
With the P1, however, I think Nipsen's hit the nail on the head by saying that it wouldn't take much to turn the platform around in terms of viability, underpowered though it is in my opinion
You can call me a fantacist if you like, but without dreamers we wouldn't have any of the technology that's so ubiquitous today...
(oh god - I need to get out more

@AD:none taken. That's your point. I didn't give up on hope and I have to say, sometimes, I am a dreamer, too.But then,I wake up: I'm realist, AD> And I look around and I see how stuff works. The designers want one thing, they advance the project to management which cuts off half of the features because or the marketing, margins, profits and economics AND engineering. The, from what's left of the product goes to engineers where the whole products gets another cut. And so on...
I'm pretty sure you know what I mean.
@Nipsen: and still, they don't do it.Did you ever wonder why?It might me because the management doesn't know how important these bugs are and what happens to the product?Or maybe cuz only 20% of the customers are like us,power-users? Or maybe cuz the money is so tight that they can't (don't want) sustain the cost? Whatever the reason, it's not done because the product works. P990i didn't and they discontinued it. Unfortunately, this is how it works.

Well it appears that I am in the minority here with so many people happy with their P1. This makes me believe that there might be a problem with my particular set up. I don't know how people can say their phone is fast though. it takes over 7 seconds to launch messaging on a freshly booted machine with no other apps running. There is no feedback either so you really aren't sure if the app launched or not.
But the one thing that I still disagree with is when people claim the OS doesn't suck. It does. Example: sometimes the "close" button is the return arrow at the top right. sometimes it's a little "x". sometimes it's a "done" soft button. sometimes something else. From a user standpoint, this inconsistency leads to errors and/or slowed use. This type of inconsistency is all throughout the OS and it is not good for the user.
