Sms cannot affect the joystick that much... For a regular and good condition/working order phone it is simply IMPOSSIBLE...
But anyway, I have friend we bough our W800 (2 years ago) at the same time (mine was 2 days older)... His joystick lasted only 2 weeks, while I still have my W800 and it is working the same as the day I bought it...
(with that phone I can say I have written more than 2000 sms, and played maaany games with the joystick)...
