Out of the choice. I would say the P1i and the C902.
I've owned both of them and personally if I had the choice again I'd go for a P1i

How would you describe the difference? Volume, timbre, clearness?

Now that we're talking about the P1i... Will Sony release a successor? That keyboard is just such an awesome invention!

When it comes to reviews GSM Arena are not very informative when they mention call quality. I find Phone Arena explain it in detail better in the performance and conclusion part of the review. Though Phone Arena are too slow when it comes to reviewing. They still have only previewed the latest SE phones.

I bought my W910 in late June & sold it a month(25 days to be exact) later because there was no way I could hear the other party on the noisy streets here.

So I had only ONE requirement when buying the replacement. The earpiece volume had to be HIGH. I purposely went to a street-level electronics shop on a Friday evening to check out the earpiece volume. I checked the SE W890,G900,C902, Nokia N78 & Xpress Music 5310. The loudest was Xpress Music 5310 but I really disliked the two red stripes on either side. G900 was slightly muffled. W890 had a low volume. NokiaN78 was loud too but I don't need a smartphone.

I finally decided on C902. Now, a month has passed & I could give my verdict. On the earpiece volume alone, I would give it at least 9. I could hear the other party even in a busy Chinese restaurant at lunchtime(no mean feat) & even on a street with busy traffic.

If earpiece volume is your ONLY concern, get Nokia 5310(its relatively inexpensive too). I bought C902 for the whole package with particular emphasis on the earpiece volume. Now I discovered that I have a gem in my hand.

That's why I used to mod the acoustics on my previous phones. They were DB2010 and DB2020 and were more modable though. Now I'm using P1, but it suits my need only with the sound mod full installed.

I just this afternoon had another play with a C902 in O2 store. Still love it very nice. Anyway i dialed voice mail on the phone and the call sound was clear and with decent volume. Im fussy and i found it good so there you go. It was good to hear the sound quality cos some recent SE phones have been poor.
