strizlow800: We have free sites here to browse. Our internet profiles here does not allow us to browse all sites for free using the default web browser. But with the use of Opera Mini, we were able to have access to the internet for free by configuring the network settings.

Bless you... You are happy. At least you are not paying half euro for 1MB.

@strizlow800: Yah maybe the hardware is m0dified. I read in the detailed specificati0ns of k800i that the ph0ne mem0ry can vary depending 0n the ph0ne's pre-c0nfigurati0n. That's the reas0n why i asked y0u last time if y0u kn0w h0w to d0 it because my friend really has that 512mb k800i ph0ne mem0ry. Let's research 0n how t0 d0 it but i think it's to0 technical.
the phone memory can vary between 40-70MB or so, not all the way up to 500MB.

@max_wedge: I think it can hold up more than 500MB. Go to this link:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/c[....]eportfolio/specification/k800i and then look for this "* Actual free memory may vary due to phone pre-configuration." And it's really true that my friend's phone has 512MB phone memory on her K800i.

Preconfigured means any operator branding that might get put on it. Operators sometimes add content, which means there is less memory available than if the phone was a generic non-branded handset. This is what they mean when they say the phone may have different memory available depending on preconfiguration.
I guarantee you, SE didn't officially release any 500MB internal memory K800's. Either you are looking at a faulty memory readout, or a prototype that was never meant to be released. This is something that would be quite hard to mod also, though not impossible.
Show me a picture of the phone showing that much memory in status, and I'll start to think about believing it
Can she actually put 500mb of stuff on the internal memory? has she tried?

@max_wedge: I don't have any time to show a picture to you. I don't mind if you don't believe. I don't care. Thanks anyway. I don't want to force you to believe me. You can't say that SE did not release a K800i phone with 500MB+ phone memory. Maybe they did. But what I think is that the my friend's phone was modified and that's the reason why it has 512MB. Just don't reply anymore. I don't want to force you to believe me. I'm not gonna earn anything whether you believe me or not. If I have time, I'll post a picture that phone with 512MB memory. If I can only ask my friend to join here in Esato to prove it.

Sorry mate didn't mean to offend you.
It's just that I've been interested in the mobile industry for a while now, and I've never seen internal memory differ so much from a manufacturers specifications.
Honestly I think you are mistaken. If not I apologise. I don't care if you show me a picture or not, it's just that I was curious and want to see it with my own eyes before I believe someone who when it comes down to it I don't know anything about.
If it was modded well then fair enough that's nice, but it's a very uncommon thing and not something offered by SE.
Anyway, sorry to upset you. Good luck to you and your friend and her super-charged K800

@max_wedge: FYI, I'm not mistaken. Maybe you're mistaken because you're acting like you know everything on SE phones. But let's end up this discussion. Bye! By the way, I'm not upset but you really offended me.

not meaning to offend you anymore, but is it possible your friends phone is a W900? It has 470MB onboard memory. Also the W600 has a bit over 230MB.
The other possibility is that it's a chinese copy. I've seen chinese K800's that look very similiar to the real thing, but they have different specs. I have actually seen K800 copies that have 512MB onboard memory. But they aren't called "K800" they are cooled "KX800" or something like that.
Anyway if you say it's definitely a K800 then I believe you, no need to be offended.
If it's a mod, it means a higher capacity memory chip has to be soldered onto the mainboard to replace the existing chip. That's a pretty major job, you need specialist equipment and also the knowledge to source the correct replacement chip (or atleast try a few until one works).
It's a kick arse mod in that case.
