hello, im just a newbie here...i dont even have a P1i unit yet.but im about to get one. just want to make sure i cover everything about it. can the text messages be saved in the memory card? how about skype/ym, can they be used in this unit for calling free to other skype users across the globe? tnx for any reply...

also, what about the lack of profiles?just saw a msg from one of the forums of it lacking profiles...does that mean i wont be able to set a profile that i can choose which has settings for vibration only without sound whenever im in a quiet place, and another profile which i can choose which has settings for sound and no vibration to minimize battery use?

for skype there is Fring and iskoot, it doesnt have the profiles thing and not sure if there is a app, i will do a quick search and find out,

There arent any profiles, nor any apps for profiles at the moment, but you can choose whichever settings you want , e.g silent with vibartion on /off from the main menu

turning silent on off involves just the tapping of an icon on screen and is really quick

i haven't tried p990 as i had my p910i for 4 years (well worth them $$$$) then I upgraded directly to P1i. And I'm gonna tell you i'll be having this phone for the next couple years. It's that good!

For years yeah... I should keep the P1 until it real successor is out. And that would take some more time. So til then I keep my P1 too.

Ive had my t230 for 5 years now and i change the battery once...its getting useless now although i can make a quick ten minute call. yep thats all the ife it has only when making calls other than that it goes for 5 days or the entire week since i dont make long phone call or get any....

i bought my k310 last year november for my bday so hopefully it will last for another 5 years lol

im buy the p1 in november. its time for me to updrage to a real phone that has everything i need therefore i will not have to buy another phone until 2013 hopefully lol

in mean time i use on phone for calls and text msging and the other for internet connecting

cant wait to buy my P1

It's common disadvantage... You can't record calls yet. But it should be available with mods someday.
