@ michael, i have flashed my x1 with the uk generic R2A rom aswell, however I do so very slight improvements, but do not experience any of the problems that you have pointed out above

You can change that back using XperiaTweak. Its a freeware program that is VERY usefull. With this you can also disable this crappy phone sleep mode when on a call. At least if you need to see the screen, you should disable this.

Yes you have right, Xperia Tweak is a musthave.
I have change the default program with Resco File Explorer

My X1 never gets into the sleep mode when am in a call and i didnt tweak it!
That actually annoys me. It begins clicking on the screen here and there.
