Asp is much more complex, and versitlie than php, by far!

.asp, and .asp .NET (.aspx) are very similar, but .aspx has a even more versitle framework, that you can not only produce website, but build entire programs in it, it means that websites like www.iomis.co.uk (we built it - newmind) can interaact with Windows, or any platform, to sync mail, contacts, calender points, how long you have worked that day, and on what project etc.

IIS can not be run on any 'nix system, you can however have 'nix with Apache, and use the .asp binary, but it will never run like a true IIS server does, because, its restricted to the .asp binary's API, like .php is.

You can use .asp and .aspx with any database, MySQL, SQL MicrosoftSQL etc, and of course, access databases. It even works better with databases connections than .php does, in less lines of code, and gets the data much quicker... have you ever seen a online store written in .php?

Glad to help, i sent you an e-mail just btw.

@ orangeman;

Yes, I too just realised that, thats why when you go to www.esato.com via wap, and go to the forums, it has a section "Forum, T300/XHTML" like I said before, XHTML can only be viewed on WAP2 browsers, so I would never write a site in XHTML, only a few could see it, its best making a few versions of it, it does not take much time, and means everyone can see it.

Ehm, well, i prefer Access, its quick, easy, can be edited offline, and is much better to intigrate into other things, SQL is a web-only database i feel.
