...darnit. Bastards!
Hmm... maybe if you try to find some incredibly stupid people at a service center, you might be able to get them to give ya a new one.
Was it a final version of the product or some pre-production thingie?
Maybe the final screen's a bit more sturdy.

or maybe you should try not dropping heavy objects on the screen. i'm not trying to be nasty (probably succeding though), but you'll be incredibly lucky if they give you a new screen just because you ask. it's the same as if someone had stolen it from you. it's not covered bya warranty and it's not

fault.
tell you what though, i'll pm you a beer so you can drown your sorrows!

No-it shouldn't be bullet proof but there should be a cover-like some pda's have! I think that SE should make somethink with that! It HAVE to be protected somehow! I had p800 proto version and I thought that there will be a protecting cover in the final version! Best regards! Peter.

Hell yeah, PiotrMmX!
The thing with the pre-release model breaking too easily could work, though. Maybe...
Or some annoying snap on cover like the Palm Tungsten T has. It is annoying, but at least yer screen wouln't break right away.
Uhm... does the P800 come with any sort of cover or pocket anyways - and I won't count the keypad as cover.
Heehee, and not trying to drop heavy objects on it would work even better.

I feel so sorry. But I think you should get it repair rather than getting a new one.
Just a question, this would not have happened if the keypad is there?

The keypad doesn't help I think. Rather on the contrary...

It would happen even with the keyboard on! The keyboard is made of not a very hard material and it is not a protection against pressure for the display! There is no case for p800 that fully protects the display as i know. The cost of the display would be huge-even 300-400 uk £ as i think-so it won't be worth exchange! Best regards! Peter

my operator over in singapore do have insurance for mobile phone. Judging from this, I will buy the insurance for p800. It covers from thief to damage.
