Problem is LG and samsung are fierce so there is no chance SE will regain there market share lost to LG and Samsung, i don't understand why motorola is ahead of SE they don't even sell phones anymore in the UK, one low end one is avaible here and there but thats it.

Theres still chance with LG. Let the market gain shape. With the astonishingly high aerage selling price. SE would be happy selling about 20 million handsets per quarter.

They may not sell phones in UK, but then again, UK is a nobody in world market share. I belive Nigeria is more important (not to mention the really big guns out there like India China, America, Russia)
Well, SE still have about 900 million Euro to blow up. If by this time next year they are still posting a loss then is lights out - .However, if they fire more workers then the number game does change. Sad nevertheless

Not really as all the country's you listed all sell super low end phones which don't make profit, while in the UK we spend the most over here and are willing to spend a fortune on super high end phones. So i guess it doesnt matter about market share just profit.

If you think the developing countries only buy super cheap cellphones, you'll be very surprised one day Either way, never mind market share. With SE, the profits are not there either So, what exactly is your point?

The US market isn't actually one of Sony Ericsson's phone markets! Read the various online news reports and history about Sony Ericsson. SE's primary markets are Asia (Sony) and Europe (Ericsson). It sure is a brand name in Asia!

It sells maybe ~3-4 phones in USA, usually low to mid level phones, usually sold through ATT.
T-Mobile USA rarely gets SE phones.

Also, Sony retail stores sell 2-3 phones, usually mid to high end, but again, model selection is done by Sony.

Otherwise, people who know about phones would generally buy imported SE phones either via mail or when traveling abroad.

Funny how SE sell to other markets but won't go to USA market. But, it's understandable!
Generally, Americans won't pay retail (i.e. full price) for phones with very few exceptions (i.e. iPhone).

SE won't expect any help from USA sales!!

SE has that same slide phones which are so not selling. Why can't they just make qwerty phones and touch screen phones with budget price. Every time SE releases new phones, it's always a slider or candybar. There's nothing really new about it. And their recent phones has been having software problems. Who would wanna buy those kind of phones? SE is making bad moves...
