Thats exactly what i was expecting one of you to say. So its not a problem with the satio rather just the default media app. Time for someone to write a third party media app like the one used in none touchscreen s60 smartphones ?

Precisely that. If the file manager could display thumbnail views of photos in a folder (rather than just a list) and you could scroll through photos in a folder full screen, (rather than only being able to open them one at a time) then I'd just ignore the Media app altogether and use file manager instead, as I used to with the c905.

I do prefer the Media app to the file manager though, especially the recent photos link on the homescreen, so if the piece of code that limits the Media app's visibility to 3000 files could be removed, it'd be perfect!

Theres always been third party media apps for S60 for viewing pictures and other files for years so i dont think theres any problem that a solution to everyone who considers this an issue might be not too far away.

Not off the top of my head as i never used them because i was always happy with the standard gallery options S60 gave. They were for none-touchscreen phones anyway so probably arent compatible with Satio anyway. Give it some time and im sure a touch screen version will be available from some developer.

Have tried several photo apps but not found one that works yet.

The satio needs a better viewer. We should be able to separate the photos into folders or groups easily also. The tagging system is slow and cumbersome and does not work with photos loaded into the phone.

Anyone found a good photo viewing app?

I do like the Satio's media viewer, its a quality addition by SE, but i did prefer the old way my N95 viewed images and videos together.

Sblantipodi, not sure if you've seen this but I stumbled upon it after a quick web search ('SonyBrands' website, dated 9th Dec). It mentions the 3000 media files limit being increased / removed in the latest firmware. sonybrands - satio-problems-listed

I've not tried the new firmware myself as I'm on Orange UK and I don't think it's been released yet, but it sounds promising?
