Anyone else experienced a problem with default destinations resetting themselves?

I have a group called 'Internet' that contains 2 access points, wifi (priority 1) and mobile (priority 2). The group is set as the default access so that my wifi point is used whenever available however on 2 separate occasions now (so I now consider this a bug) my Satio has changed the default connection to my wifi access point meaning that if that is not available it doesn't switch to use my mobile access point.

This is causing problems as when out and about my email has not been downloading and there is no notification, as used to happen on my P990, that mailbox checking has failed.

Yes - but I've not identified on what is changing it though.. It may have some thing to do with some of the apps having the ability to have there own 'default destination'

(tbh I thought there already was a bug list, but here goes ) Some bugs are going to be related to one problem:

* Application bug (Phone caller log) - Always has a mobile phone icon against the missed/received/dialled caller even if you have them down in your contacts as a 'Work number' or 'home number'. Aka Can't distinguish number association.

Still there

* Application bug (Default Browser Crashes) - Pressing the delete key multiple times when in an edit field box.
Never had this problem myself

* End making voice call causes power down - Blank Screen, Can't power on. Battery Pull required. Frequency: a few Never had this either

* Default Browser causes reboot - While using 3G clicked on a link, phone paused and rebooted.
Nope, never had this problem

* SE standby theme screen corruption - Scrolling/Viewing images from the theme has caused corruption/image flipping/green-yellow background. Reboot required.
Never had this happen

* Phone call received - Reboot.

THis has happened to me before. Not happened with new firmware as yet.

* Music stutters - clicks/pauses throughout listening to MP3s (have tried it with telemetry, wifi off),

Gone =)

* Application bug (Track ID) - Cannot hear music message Fixed =D

* Bluetooth send / receive - Send all results in one message, Frequency: All the time, but have a workaround.

Still the same

1. Wi-Fi suffers from drop outs every now and again. Can’t seem to find a cause, just every now and again.
Dodgy network?

2. ** There is no way to search by name for an MP3 in Media, I have over 1400 songs on the memory card and no other way to find a track except scrolling through the entire list. Unbelievable!

Use the search function on the homescreen, would be nice if you could do it from the media player too tho I guess

3. I cannot order videos in date order. Only be ordered by filename.
Still ordered by file name, but if you go to photos>camera album any videos taken on the phone show up in there in date order mixed in with the photos

4. When I have a picture attached to a contact and that person calls me, the contact picture appears ok but it is partially obscure by the contact name area.
It's like this on most symbian phones.

5. ** Battery life = Not Good! Everyone knows this, not news. Please let the 1350mAH battery rumour be true……

Mines fine, about a days worth of heavy usage

6. When a call is received the vibration starts for about 5 seconds before the ringing starts. This might be a feature or a bug, who knows. I just wish there was a setting to choose.
Seems to have shortened a bit with the new firmware. If you turn vibration off I think it rings straight away.

7. When connecting to my bluetooth handsfree car kit there is no profile I can select for this in ‘Accessories’ menu. So when my phone is on silent in the office, it stays on silent when I get into my car. Other S60 phones had a handsfree profile. Strange this is missing as the Satio has profiles for Headset, Textphone and TV Out. Also the earpiece volume is used as the handsfree volume. This is not the case with other S60 phones.

I haven't got a headset so can't try this out.

8. ** To search for a contact is a long winded process. Being sent to a ‘split over two page non-qwerty keyboard’ to start your keypresses is hardly ideal. Why not qwerty or alphanumeric like normal S60 contacts finding? Also no contact link from normal homescreen.
Still sucks, but with the improved responsiveness it's at least a lot easier to get to the contacts

9. No equalizer in Satio Media music player.

Still not there =( I can see it being added in the future though

10. **Kinetic scrolling is excellent in the Media menus and other areas grafted on by Sony. But no kinetic scrolling in the normal S60 parts of the UI make getting around lists such as contacts very difficult and non-intuitive.

Still no kinetic scrolling in all parts of the phone.

11. My Blueyonder e-mail works fine but for some reason the normal automatic retrieval settings do not work. I cannot get my e-mail checked every 30/60 mins etc, I can only connect manually?
Not sure about this. not been able to try it out

12. Camera is excellent but the settings menu seem hard to change, the on screen settings need a hard push or several pushes to register a touch.
Its still like this =/

13. ** Screen sensitivity is not great. I know its resistive but sometimes the screen registers the touch but the UI does not react, sometimes it just does not register.

All sorted now =)

14. ** I’m not sure if the flash is weak or camera software needs changing but photos taken in low light look dark and hard to view, even at very close flash ranges of 1 metre.

Mine are too bright if anything lol

15. Autorotate is bit too eager and trigger happy. The sensitivity angle could be reduced a bit please.

It now has to be at more than a 45 degree angle(ish)

16. If we could have some brightness and contrast controls in video player would be good.

That would be good.

17. Accuweather for S60v5 install and appears to run ok until it tries to access network and then gives some strange error message. Nothing can be resolved by setting changes.

not tried it

18. No RDS on the radio? Yet I think it was advertised as having RDS.

Still no RDS =(

19. When photos are geotagged, unlike in N series phones there is no option to view on a map. Because no Nokia maps integrated I guess, just Google Maps and Wisepilot.

Not tried this out yet either. sorryyy

20. Speaker phone volume is a low from the loudspeaker.

Seems ok to me. each to their own I guess

21. Cannot save files that are bluetoothed to me on the memory card. If the file is too big for phone memory (See number 22) then no option to save to memory card. (I think this is an S60 issue on all phones I seem to recall)

Mine saves to memory card

22. ** Tiny amount of usable C drive space (50/60Mb) even though I install all apps and save everything to memory card.

Yepp, still tiny

23. ** Apparently Satio has 256Mb of RAM but you would not realise it as it struggles to do more than one thing at a time.

Performance is much improved with this update

24. Where’s the Satio Facebook App?

I want my facebook app =(

25. ** I have set up the relevant access points in Destinations (Wi-Fi priority 1, network data priority 2). I’ve also set up all of the apps to use the correct destination and I still get asked which destination to use on app start up.

Still annoying as hell

26. ** Predictive text (T9) with the alphanumeric keypad has issues! When trying to enter one letter, say m, n or o by pressing 6 key once, I cannot then toggle between them with the * key like you normally can with predictive text! I have to enter and spell n and o manually! Ridiculous! It’s not all of the time so it’s not even predictable!

27. ** When entering a full stop or comma or symbol after a word when I try to toggle with the * key the word is changed! Ridiculous! Again not all the time.

It's like this on all s60 phones. It sucks

28. ** Sometimes movies/videos give a ‘could not play file’ message when I launch them in Media. If I reboot the phone then they will play ok if I do it first thing without using the phone for anything else. This seems like some memory usage issues.

Not had this issue except with protected content, but that seems to be working ok after the update

I don`t know if this is a bug or not, but I can`t edit pictures on my Satio. I go into media, select a picture, edit. When I try to add efect it just jumps back into media. It just worked first time, now it just, editing pictures, won`t work. Any ideas?

It seems I have a bug. When playing downloaded movies from Play Now Movies, it causes the phone to reboot. This is the only bug I have found to be severe, and able to reproduce each time. Anyone else?

I find this "bug list" somewhat unstructured. A considerable amount of the listed "bugs" should be listed as missing functionality and not faults in existing functions. I think we should at least make that distinction.

For me, "bugs" are things like when the phone reboots itself or a program crashes or does not behave as described in the manual. If there is no RDS in the radio or no equalizer in the media player, it's not a bug but a missing function that the designers may have decided to not implement. It would only be a bug if there was a menu choice for that function that didn't work. Nevertheless, I too miss such functions that I have been used to have in previous phones.

I wouldn't call the poor battery life a bug either, even though settings and use of the programs do affect the battery life. The boor battery life is simply bad design.

Also, some of the "bugs" listed are actually neither bugs nor missing functionality. Instead, it's poor documentation. A lot of functions do exist but are not documented in the manual, and the only way to find out is by searching the Internet or reading forums like Esato.

well said altemyr .... given the Satio does have some "bugs", but this all out assault
for every single little "problem" makes it seem a lot worse than it really is.

I've struggled to reproduce any of the bugs on mine so feel myself to be very lucky
and not being a series 60 expert I'm finding the whole UI a p.i.t.a. but on the whole
still quite impressed with the Satio, especially as I've not had one of the A2 style
auto reboots at all !

I don't miss the equaliser as i have an ipod, i use full querty keyboard so T9 issues
don't bother me, I have a "proper" alarm clock, handsfree is via a bluetooth headset
so loudspeaker issues don't bother me. The only media on mine is about 20 snaps a
day and about 10 or so mp3 clips for ringtones so I'm unlikely to ever see the media
issues either.

What is a PAIN is the dire battery life, "shoddy" UI ..... I suppose you could say I use
my Satio as a phone and just a phone. in this respect it works very well, as a "Media"
experience .... hhmmmmm .... roll on the X10's arrival.

glorfingal - I agree that this thread has BECOME unstructured, the OP stated that they would update the original post... so it failed from the start.

As for you not being able to reproduce any bugs.. I doubt that.

Look at my post on page 1. The Log application, assign two different numbers (a work and a mobile) to ONE contact and phone the satio FROM each of the numbers. don't answer the call - reject each one in turn, as if you had missed the call. Then go to the log application and tell me which one is which just by looking at the log application, both are assigned the mobile icon.

Also try from a mobile and do a send all bluetooth contacts to the satio.. I get just 1 contact received.
