I still think that overall, w995 is Sony Ericsson's masterpiece. Feature wise, appearance and for me the best is the sound quality and durability. I am an owner of one for quite some time now and replacing it with a newer SE model has never crossed my mind since I've been really satisfied with the phone's performance. Not once have I ever used the 1 year warranty from timtechs where I got this phone from since the phone is just so durable.
+1 except for the placement of call/call end buttons to far from center. I am returning my Aino and probably will pick up W995a again if Newegg sells it again for $299 like it did on Cyber Monday.

I do not own or have used an Aino... but i can tell you that you wont feel dissapointed by the W995 performance, i bought one two days ago, and it really is a nice phone, the camera (still with original driver) performs quite nice, white balance is spot on most of the time....
Here are some of the good points both phones have:
W995:
-Nice design and finish (brushed aluminum)
-Dedicated Music Controls
-3.5mm Jack (with the possibility to connect another set of headphones through the fastport)
-Stereo Speakers
-Powerful LED flash
-Kickstand for watching videos/pictures
Aino:
-Touch interface (could speed up some tasks, such as scrolling through pictures)
-Remote Play (for use with a PS3)
-Better Camera (judging from the samples provided by Esato members)
-Higher video recording resolution (VGA vs QVGA)
-Bigger screen (should provide a better viewing experience [save for the odd resolution])
Thats all i can think of right now, hope it helps a bit....

build quality on W995i/a tends to be not so good though.

Is there difference in build quality between W995 and W995a? I doubt but would like to hear from someone who got their hands on both and explain what the differences are.

I have the W995a, and my friend W995i.
They are both kinda flawed in their build. My friend bought hers in August, and I mine in late September.

w995's quality is 9/10
aino's quality is 8/10
Wish w995 has a bigger 16/9 screen.. and the volume side-button NOT so low !!

W995 has a better keypad than Aino. However Aino sound quality is
far above W995 (both tested with a wired hpm 78). Mega Bass, treble and mid all comes out very strongly and naturally. The best music phone by SE, pity no 3.5mm adaptor provided.

I've used both and judging by SW issues only, I would suggest for now you go for the W995. The Aino has too many SW error issues.

I am using them both now. Haven't got any problem with Aino. Mine was bought almost 2 week ago in Singapore, should be from the latest production batch. I really dont understand what's the crap about Aino software. As far as I know the touch screen mode is not meant to be a full touch screen mode, so combination of using a keypad and touch screen will solve the problem even on opera mini. That how Aino usage is intended for.
As for accidentally playing music while in the pocket, never happen to me. I simply off the screen with the knob on the top and it solves the acidental touch.

Your notion of 'kinda flawed' is too broad and bears no weight especially when many find the build quality to be solid. Perhaps you should elaborate to give your post some value?
