Have just seen a series of videos by a guy called KJ from se.

He recommends:

Advanced Task Killer
OI File Manager
Juice Defender

Think the first two have probably been mentioned. Just researched juice defender, its an interesting app that basically has automated processes for killing battery intensive features (3G, WIFI etc). Could be very useful!

FYI, swype doesnt seem to work, think it must be the resolution, google maps navigation is fine, opera mini is fine, handcent is fine, helix launcher seems fine, as are most of the battery apps i tried, remote vnc works great considering the screen size, shape writer works but doesnt look great due to screen shape (they have preview pane in wrong place).

if anyone has any luck getting swype to work i would be v v interested!

I think Swype is being updated very soon. A lot of Android sites have stories about it recently.

Hi everybody

A very good keyboard is Anysoftkeyboard, he's free and available on the market. The touch size is higher than with slideit.
But always the same problem for sms just the vertical position.

I tried that, but for some reason the device just doesn't use it. I changed it in the preferences (according to the "manual"), but no effect. Do I miss something here?
