I hope it does. Everyone has chargers already, why ship millions of the things for nothing.

🍎 can remove whatever they want, ppl still buy iphones.
Sony is not in same position.
If I sell my phone to buy a new one, charger goes with the phone.
Then I would not have any.

They don't put chargers in boxes but then sell those chargers in their own boxes. How green!
If charger goes away then the phone should cost less. How does shipping double the amount of units in the same crate benefit the user? It's all more money for the maker. These choices should reflect on the consumer more directly.
If they wanna go green, they should work on longevity of their devices. Like give them 5 years of updates for example. Or buy them back as trade ins. Focus on repairability etc.

Not that simple.
There is no guarantee device would still perform well with android 15.
The support also depends on google and qualcomm.
Remember z3 being cut from beta 7.0?
🍎 does it because they make 💰 with old models that are still being made.
The 2018 iphones are still being produced and well sold.
Not even google gives 5 years.
Just 1 more than the rest.
There is trade in deals, in Taiwan.
Idk about other markets.

Quite clearly, if most purchasers already have a charger, then it's a gain for the environment. Both replies above are seriously suggesting that there are no free chargers in the house for a new phone !? I'm not sure I believe that.
If you need a higher capacity charger for a new phone, then yes, that's an additional expense, but in theory you've been charged less for the phone you've just bought (since it doesn't include a charger). This new charger should last you more than the phone you've just bought, so it's a net gain for the environment.
