I can completely understand people who don't want to rush to 3G. Expecially as some of them have only just bought their P800
However to say that there is no content as yet is not quite true. I think the location based services look amazing. Hutchinson have 40TB of OS maps on their servers!
I don't think I would make much use of video calls for the time being but I could record small video clips for MMS etc.
Also the prices for pay as you go on Three are actually fairly reasonable IMHO.

even on pay as go tariffs, its expensive! 50p per min for vid calls, f**k that!!!!! the other call charges aint too bad, but not the best!!
and checking the coverage in my area, its not that great until end of the year, well not gud enuff to persuade me to switch to 3g neway!
the phones look ok, but i feel ull need a decent size screen (like my loverly p800) to use the 3g content, n the nec e606 dint look that big, n the moto just looked ugly!
the only 3g fone ive seen that looks half decent is sonys nice little effort (i forget its model num).
if the prem highlights only the main selling point at the mo, then that is never gonna b enuff to make me switch. i mean yeah itd b nice to watch the prem in a pub or on the bus etc, but not at the prices theyre predicting

Then what about the cross-network voice call charges during peak time in the UK? 50p/min on some of the tariffs on Voda and O2.
When I compare these two, I think 50p for video call is reasonable, at least at the launch of this new service.
(However, I have to say, video call charges using FOMA or Vodafone 3G in Japan are roughly 35p/min at peak time, so it is correct to say Three charges are more expensive than Japanese equivalent.)

Yeah I agree with Panda - 50p minute isn't that expensive when you compare it with some mobile tariffs. Or come to think of it Directory enquiries (BT one - 118118) is 49p a minute just to look up a telephone number for you!
I don't think I would use Video calling anyway, but it could be fun occasionally.

Okay lets this right, Its not 50p to call another its 15p that is if you use up all your inclusive mins thats between 1000 to 2000min, and when you are on the 3to go tariff which is like the pay as you go tariff its 25p to any network and 15p to other numbers .I am on orange your plan 400 and I pay £50 every month to get 400mins to any network, Okay now tell me which uk network offers 1000min and 250 text 60mms 100min video calls and 40video messages for £59.99, lets not talk about video calls yet becos i wont use it that much. I dont think that there is any network in the uk that gives such a deal. So I dont see any reason why people should complain about 3uk, and I guess most of you spend more than £60 on calls every month.

Just be careful with buying either of the NEC phones on the Three network. Both only support voice calling and sms outside the Three network. So no MMS or GPRS. WIhtin the Three network, they of course support these features. The Motorola phone supports GPRS and MMS outside the Three network, and is also Tri-Band.
I really want to go for 3G on Three, but the phones are just too big, and the lack of MMS and GPRS is also a big issue.
