I think it's more because of the hardware issue.. in other words, you got a defect P800.. if it's because of the hardware than there's no other way although you hate it you still have to go to SE service center eventually.

Dude, you GOTTA back-off the coffee. Your heads gonna blow clear off one day.

I'm one of 3 P800 users in Hilversum, Holland, and the 3 of us may have issues about Bluetooth or vCards or syncing, but that's solvable. And we know it. Your screaming about things which aren't endemic to the P800 only succeeds in making P800 **USERS** look pathetic, like a bunch of kids who spend first and ask questions later (and maybe you did research, but your posts are REALLY newbie and annoying).

You can't overcharge the battery.
You can lock up the phone by not allowing for head space in RAM, but if you have a 128MB card, what the hell are you doing storing alot in the internal ram?
Stuff happens. Get over it.

On your continual issues with batteries, maybe it's the power source - I used to live in the US but now reside in Holland, and I've NEVER seen so many ungrounded AC lines in my life! Often I plug something in and see a great spark or hear a pop. All my gear is on filtered powerstrips, but even those here don't give me much peace of mind.

Frankly - it AIN'T the phone. Yelling won't help. Start looking elsewhere.

i'm not sure about the "overcharging", but i remember a while back there were similar problems with the psion revo.

the docking station was supposed to charge at full blast until about 90%, then go slow for the remaining 10%, then trickle charge.
but that didn't go well for some units, and i believe they were fried.
or the battery broke after only a month of use, or something similar.

you might really want to return the entire package and have it replaced. at least that's what i'd do, because it would take all the fun out of owning such a great phone if is unreliable.

@jtrascap

shut up. you dont even know what im talking about. when you waste $800 on anything and doesnt work you are bound to be pissed off. ok your bluetooth is not working so what. my nice phone doesnt work at all and $800 gone down the drain!!!

and i never said anything about owning a 128 card (i wish i could find it) or about the outlets. i was taling about how the phone becomes extremely unstable when little to no memory is left.

if what happened to me happened to any of you, you would be pissed.

and it happened to me twice!!!! i only used the phone for 2 months out of the 6 months that i "owned" it. so shut the f**k up and go smoke some weed. thats probably why you cant understand what i posted, because you guys smoke too much weed there right?

@Naar

I know what you are talking about, I’ve got a problem the second day I bought my p800, the infrared stops suddenly. I send the unite to SE and they test it, the next day they give me another phone but it's used!! I told them that the phone is used before and I need a new one, they said comeback tomorrow and we will replace it.
I came the next day and guess what? …… They give me another used one, but not used too much, so after a long hard argument, I decide to take it cause I have no other choices, and at the home I found that one of the LCD cells is dead and cause a white dot on the screen, at that time I lost my mind .
The next day I went to SE and I was boiling, so when I entered the center, the lady at the reception stands up and asked me if I want somebody to fight with, I screamed YES!!! Then she ran inside and in a second they brought me a very new one and that’s the entire story.
So don’t be quite, they should replace it to you, so what is the Warranty means ?!
Sorry if I took your time ….

Is it possible you got a power spike? It just sounds kind of similiar to what happened to my compuer after we had a thunderstorm. Went for a while -acted weird- then crashed. Rebooted - went for a while then crashed - again - crashed - then wouldn't boot up at all.

Do you have any spike protection? Do you know if your power supply is good quality? A lot of people take it for granted that it is when sometimes it's not.

I'm curious to know now if the P800 has any inbuilt protection - Anyone know??

Don't know if this is anything to do with your problem - but figured it couldn't do any harm to mention it.
