There's no way they will ever make sw upgrade available to the public. Sure, people can do it now, but there's no way they'd want to publicly release their protocols and sw for other people to play around with officially.

You know that thay will not make it avelable to people or you just think so???
I see your point BUT then why like Palm relised rom update like more then year ago from palm os 3 to os 4. They were charging like 20$ but that was different kind of update.
What kind of codes and protocols you are talking about.... sound stupeeeddd.
By your theory Microsoft shoud kip there instalation CD's hiden or peopel will get so caled code . Lets ship PS for update WUHUU.
If they will relise they will relise compiled setup file same as you instal any soft on P800.
I am not arguing that they will relise it,,, I am just saying it is not imposible.
So lets live and see.

@Bitru.
You're right...it's by no means impossible. But once people start messing around with phones, it becomes difficult to manage things from a warranty point of view. Given that it would become difficult to "prove a fault" once people start messing with the sw in a phone, it makes the warranty process very messy. People who use open-source flash sw upgrades or something, and mess their phones up, would have to be covered under warranty, as the sw etc was released by the company. It would cost-prohibitive.

@Gabster.
Wasn't on any info I got, but have tried it, and no...no T9 sorry

@JForce

If you have this upgrade, can you confirm (or not) that it is infact UIQ 2.1?

http://www.uiq.com/+&m2
2.1 supports themes, and MIDP 2.0. Does it have any of these?

If it is not, then it's just a pretty trivial upgrade, if it is, then it's a serious upgrade!
