Boxy can make a screen wider and bigger is not true.

R520 is not boxy but it have 7 line...T68 is not boxy and it offer you 8 line....siemens S55 is not boxy, it also offer 6 line.

boxy or "kawaii" trend is a design concept...something Industrial designer "THINK" will be something accepted by the mass market in coming years.

They might predict this in 2002 about what will be hot in 2003. I don't think anyone is complaining about the shape....because design is a very personal thing.

you either like it or you hate it. But if you hate it...stop shouting too. Even you like it, it could be something you feel stupid 10yrs later.

Just watch MTV's CLASSIC MTV prog and you might say to yourself " HOW COME I LOVE THIS STUPID MTV 10yrs AGO?"

If you look carefully, the 7210 is box-shaped too... 7210s only different part is its keys...

If you put both t610 and 7210 on a paper and draw around them, you will only see two boxes on the paper...

I think the SE p800 has to be the best smartphone for looks and power! The 7650 was a box and only had 4mb overall, the p800 had more than double the memory and looks. And the 3650 is the most babish fone ever made. I think the reason sony phones may look boxy compared to nokia is that, sony are aiming higher up the business market more formale, when nokia are aiming for teenagers and young adults. SE newest designs are maybe a bit boxy, oh...all right, sooo boxy. but dont forget to see it directly and touch it with your palm.

dont rely on magazine or web or any picture of the new design, somewhat the design is much better to look at in in the real world and when it laid down to your hand.

for example t310. i am the first who hate about the design but lately in store i found that the design is soo cool. much better than the advertisement picture. you can see the concave shape made by high quality hard plastic with silicon metal coated paint. and later SE's design is really made of some high quality material even though just for the casing, it feels rock solid, didnt crack or cramp.

so is with the t300. it is look like a brick but in the real eye-seeing it is so-cool design. and t300 casing even dont look like that they can be replaced or exchangable. really solid built.

I love the design both of T68i and T610, they're of different kinds~

and I love "boxy" phones, like Samsung N100/N200 and T610, the "simple" sytle of T610 is great, fantastic!

less is more, right?

I agree with muppBingo.Nokia are far the best phone makers in the world.Great designs with there phones that apeal to all ages, t610 does not apeal to teens.Nokia phones are class, just the best.

To be perfectly honest, i only considered buying a T68i cos it said sony on it (and it looked slick). Having used sony phones- i was expecting a little more of a sony influence cos their phones are (were) quite fun to use. I would like to see jog dials on SEs phones (like they've done to the P800)
