all you need for good playback on the P800 speaker is a Mono format at a 48kb bitrate. using that rate, i have 46 songs on my memory stick taking up less than 53MB. very cool indeed...

stereo better if you listen with headphones. if just on the P800 speaker, and the P800 has only 1 speaker, then mono is all you need.
i use dbpoweramp too.

Yes the mp3 was larger than it should have been so I converted it quite hard..

I have never tried an ogg player or anything related to ogg files. Are they better then the "old"

mp3 files? If so then I could just make about 11'000 mp3's into ogg thus save some space.

@Lordmike
mp3 was the pioneer of music compression format.
Better formats for compression & sound quality are wma (Microsoft) or mp3pro(Thomson).
ogg is a open source format that is as good as if not better the wma or mp3pro (Bit like comparing Microsoft to Linux

)

I downloaded dBpowerAMP and the Ogg codec but whenever I try convert any MP3's I get prompted to download the Power Pack (which you have to buy), despite having installed and located the Ogg codec.
Any ideas?
