Hey guys,

Don't fall for it! It's definetely a dodgy business. I just contacted the seller and we corresponded a few e-mail.
I asked where he is and whether we can meet up to close the deal, the answer is he's sending the P800 from Madrid, Spain.
Then I replied I'll be in Madrid This Saturday and told him to name the location to meet and close the deal.
...and finally he replied he'll be on vacation this Saturday!

What do you think guys?

Is there no way we can contact ebay and tell them so no one falls for this? I might email him also and see what he says. Maybe he will get the message that people are on to him?

Well all I can say is if this has caught a ebay fraudster then great. The more of these we catch the better. I had no idea that this would go this far, but like I say if has stopped someone lossing alot of money then that is what this forum is all about. We should try to contact ebay to sort this out. Maybe we should ask a few more details about the phones before contacting ebay and list all the findings here, then when we are all satisfied contact ebay.

Hi I brought my P800 off ebay about a month ago for £300 brand new and everything was sealed and had firmware upgraded if it was stolen then when they check the IMEI on there PC it would come up stolen. I think I got a good deal very pleased with it

Be careful!

I have found that eBay traders user identifiers and passwords have been stolen. I was sent a bogus email from support@ebay.com that asked me to re-register (ebay confirmed it was a scam). I suspect many of the P800 phone traders are using stolen identities - especially the ones that are for money transfers where in the past they seem to have accepted PayPal when trading other items.

How did this shit end? Is it still an ''invalid item number''? Anyone? This message was posted from a T300

There was a guy a little while ago pulling exactly the same scam on eBay, on the main item description, it said he was in UK, so I bid for a 7650 he had for sale, and I won, but it turned out he was in Bulgaria and would not send the phone until I had sent the money by Western Union transfer.

Luckily, before I paid, I saw an advert on eBid.co.uk about someone who had been scammed by a bloke in Bulgaria who insisted on Western Union transfer, so I refused to pay the guy and he threatened to complain to eBay because it was a legally binding deal, but guess what...he never did and he no longer exists on eBay, probably the same bloke!

I'm registered on eBay with a username that sounds like a company, I have bid for many P800's but was never successful in winning any until two months ago. Prior to me winning I was bombarded with emails all from eBay sellers @yahoo.com. The common denominator was that they all had 100+ feedback and all wanted payment via Western Union. One guy who was in Romania even went to the length of calling me on my YAC number to discuss quatities, as I was going to be in Romania the following week I suggested that we meet to conclude the deal, guess what, he came out with all manner of excuses not to meet up. Sufice to say that I kept my money and he kept his fictitious P800's.

Be warned a fool and there money are easily parted, if in doubt do nout.

It is sad but there are people trying to cheat on ebay for a lot of money. My last experience with this was in April, when a romanian guy was trying to sell "15 x New Sony-Ericsson P800" for about AU$1800.

I check all the other items of the seller and I noticed that prior to this, he used to sell only accessories, but never phones. The guy said he is from Australia, but now visiting Germany and would like to receive the money "IMEDIATELLY" via Western Union in Romaina.

I got the idea imediatelly - asked for his phone, complete address and all I could gather about him - sent it to ebay, got contacted by the real owner of the stollen account. Information was passed to the authorities but I don't think they ever got him...

It was sad, because one or two guys had already sent WU money orders ;-(

Probably there are some bulgarians that may do the same - this is the fastest way to gain bad feedback all over the globe when it is to Bulgaria ;-(
