I do think that the basic bloody apps have been left out by

and that is crap, but after 4 months, i am happy with it! It should have T9, Alarm when phone is off, hide id, sms counter and many other simple things that come with older phones and should be easy for

to install....
but they didn't.... i still have hope in a later update ....
who knows...

First of all, I love my P800, I've just bought two weeks ago and it is amazing.
I've searching about the P800 cam quality. and I didnīt find if the firmware upgrade can increase the quality.
I'm telling this because I have a T300 with the Cam (MCA-25) and the quality is much better than P800 at any conditions.
There is any trick to increase the quality? There is a configuration other than the default that you recommend for the p800's cam?
Best,
Antonio

I'm a bit puzzled why you posted in this old thread
Anyway... the answer to your question is no. Firmware will not change the camera quality.
AS pointed out here and in many many many other threads... cameras on phones are just a small gimmick. Do not expect miracles from it.
You are comparing it with your MCA-25... which IMHO is the best mobile cam out there today.
Of course your pics don't measure up to that.
But the main function of the P800 is not the camera. If you want a good camera buy one (Canon would be my suggestion)

You want basics, get a nokia. If you dont want the p800, sell it. Well i guess the p800 is not meant for a basic person.

hey guys peace...
I've been reading this forum for a while and I observed a lot of complaints about create a new Topic issues that were refered already, so that's why I used this old Topic.
I don't want basic stuff, I am happy with the P800, And I actually have a Canon camera. (S230) I just expected a bit more quality on the P800's camera.
Anyway thanks for your help.
Best
Antonio Carlos

iT IS DEFINITELY NOT MADE FOR A BASIC PERSON.
for the cam quality...what do u expect with a 4096 resolution???? to see all the bumps ont he moon??? The camcorder!!!welll do a search and u will find an application that records videos...many of us esatoninas have it. The think you must have forgotten is, there are LOTS of applciations to PURCHASE/ steal/hack...to make your P800 even more powerfull. Full screen video, well there are programs u can install in ur P that allow that...
The P800 is definitely not for you...sorry to hear that, cause it adapts to all type of people

I must have read, at least 30 reviews, been into several phone stores, played around on store models, read forumsters reviews and opinions, checked out all the good's and bad's of the phone before I bought it, and when I finally got it, my expectations were still too low and the phone surprised me nicely.
btw, about testing the phone, you can do that of sorts with
Vodafone UK and their 14 day return, pretty much, if you don't likes, you can send it back

I never saw this topic before
but basically, I wont try to convince u that the P800 rox
complaining wont make the phone better
trust me.. I experienced this with the 7210..
I researched it just a bit, and then went off and bought it (cldnt test it, I had it sent for from a diff country)
I was very disappointed.. the look was crap, the IR was crap, the FM radio was just as I expected tho..
the Java was crap, and everything else that even if I cld hv tested the phone, I wldnt hv known it was crap
basically, it happens...
but this is just to teach u that when u r putting large amounts of money (which I did for the 7210, I got it when it was still 600$USD) u shld put a lil effort in researching
and I'm thankful that I hv met some cell salesmen that allow me to take the phone home with me, cuz I am friends with them
I was about to purchase the SPV 2 days ago
I brought it home, played with it for one day and figured it's a gr8 phone, but not what I'm lookin for..
the size shocked me.. I was lookin for something smaller, and I honnestly thought it was smaller from what I had researched..

Hey dude are you ok???
what heck are you talking about? I'm not talking about the camcorder(that I have and I am happy with the results), and I'm not talking about the quality on the P800 screen (what I am very happy too), what I'm talking is about the quality when you send a file to the PC. It looks out of focus.
I don't care about the video recorder right now. And actually I not a basic person, I use My P800 to access my servers via SSH on PUTTY, I use my P800 to access my desktop machine via VNC viewer, it's incredible how a simple question becames a mess in this Forum, a lot of people take it as a personal.
Take it easy.
I like and I use the resources of my P800, I very happy with it and I not gonna change it for any Nokia around.
Best Regards
antonio
