This use to be around 2200 KB when I had the R1A firmware.
The sound directory does not calculate the files inside when you do a master reset when you have R1A firmware. It comes back when you upgrade but I don't know whether it goes away again when you master reset your phone with R1L firmware, haven't tried it yet...

zerling, yes... there are threads about this but in summary the phone keeps the original and a raw copy for quick loading for display.
