The price of €349 is a promotional offer from Mobistar. It is a 'discount' from the 'official' price of €449 and included 10 free mms messages for 10 months that can only be used by Mobistar customers. Sim and contract free phone.
I wonder if any store will be able to sell these phones for the 'original' price after the Mobistar promotion is over.
Mobistar is campaigning intensively with this promotion. The t610 is all over. I don't like that because I do not have a budget for a new phone at this time and the t610 it really an object of desire.

You're right, but...
Phoneshops like Belcompany and Phone House have lowered their prices to compete with the M*packs (and Proximus now has a t610 pack for 349 € too).
And you can go to a M* service point and purchase the T610 sim-free, without the pack for ... 349€ (at least in Ghent, that is
.
The M* promo has forced the retail price down, or so it seems.

In the Philippines you can get a t610 in the black market without warranty for P17,300 = $314 . T610 with warranty is P21,000 = $381
