The two ppl in NL as well as the lady in vietnam all had original batteries. Which kinda suggests it may not be the battery... but something in the powersupply in the phone...... therefore Nokia is at fault.

the 1st incident was with a 3rd party battery, so nokia immeditely blamed and re enforced to its customers to buy official accessories etc

the most recent incident though was with a brand new nokia (i believe one of the 7 series - 7250?) with the original battery

so nokia now has a DEEP problem of explaining why its better to buy onmly nokia stuff even thought it blows up too along with the other obvious problem that its phones are now blowing up

one thing to keep in mind is the sacle of the problem - yes its a massive pr fukup - but in terms of total units sold the amount blowing up is barely registering

yes....... however bad press can do irreparable damage sometimes... and every phone that explodes now is putting Nokia in a worse position...... coz there will be more and more media attention and we all know what hypes can do

Nokia had better get their act together!
