I was waiting for someone to come along and throw a coin on the track. I must say I didn't think it would be a newbie, very brave my boy, very brave.
Personally I say bravo Sweetheart. An artist is allowed to be tempramental and if a little light chanting will bring a genius back to work then I stand proud and tall and scream at the top of my cigar damaged lungs "ENCORE!"

Sweetheart has done a lot. And we all appreciate his work.
Not to mention ogg skins, tracker 2 skins and the sweetcam.
He should not let an issue of his work being copied and modified get in the way. This actually mean that his work has been a "stepping stone" for a lot of aspiring editors. He should be honored.
And besides, people have different requirements for thier skins which FXP1 doesn't have so they make their modificaitons. I don't think symbianware will get mad if people mess around with their skins. Hey this is a community where people share stuff. Since Sweet SHARED his skin with the community, FXP2 was not STOLEN in a technical sense.

feep, i really dont mind this post, but as the previous poster said, u are very brave...One thing u will understand maybe in the future maybe...if you come up with something productive and someone steals it from you, you would definitely be acting like sweet...not trying to be rude to you or anything, i am just pointing something...hope u get it.
and if i were in sweet's shoes, hell yea, i want recognition...come on now, the guy spent soo much time to please anyone who requested anything from him...so if he needs soem cheering up, well i will be the first one to do it.

This all seems rather childish. The guy's said over and over again that this is the end of his contribution, so why not leave it at that? Either he means it or he's such an absurd egomaniac that he's waiting in the wings for the crowd to chant "encore" enough that he might deign to return for you.
You hit the nail right on the spot here.
The more people are making skins, the better and he did some nice work for the community but this is starting to all a bit childish.
Agreed, he made the forum lively but in an irritating way. I don't like ego trippers.
At the moment he sits crying in a corner, angry that so many people don't understand him. I get lots of very agressive mails from him so I know.
But this forum is for everybody so he's welcome too.
Let it end here. This is the last I'll say on this topic.

scotsboyuk: why is my statement brave? Will someone unleash the flying monkeys to hunt me down and steal my soul? Seems unlikely.
All:
I could be wrong here, but I don't think so... this "sweetcam" as he calls it... tell me which of the following is incorrect:
The camcoder application was illegally distributed
This sweetheart guy modified it and distributed it
This sweetheart guy renamed the application to refer to himself
There is plenty of evidence for the above assertions on this forum. I hardly think modifying an XP rip-off skin is even in the same league as the abuse listed above.

I coded alot in the past and know what it's like when
you get parts or the whole code 'stolen'.
I even had ppl repack it with .nfo and stuff
but that I just thought was fun showed how lame they where.
I think it's ok if ppl take code and change/add to it
aslong as they leave a note where the original work is from
and don't claim they coded the whole thing them self.
(and a mail asking if they can do it is nice also)
