Which would you rather do? Give your brother a phone that he'll love, without you spending a single dollar or sell your T68i and spend money on a brand new phone (which your brother might not like as much as a T68i).

i also think it's a shame that kids grow up on mobile phones. I had my first phone when I was 20, it was an ericsson g628. old brick!

I know this is probably quite old fashioned, but i was never allowed to even use the house phone when I was growing up. My mum and dad were like "why don't you walk over to friend's house, and if they're not in, at least you'll have had a good (3 mile) walk!

I suppose it's good from the whole safety perspective though. Although I think that the concept of kids having "schedules", is a bit alien to me. Mine was go to school, do a bit of homework, kick about with my mates a bit, go home, by the time my parents had set, (or face the wrath of an angry mum).

The only thing I have against mobiles really is the amount of money kids must spend on them, and also the bloody "text" language which a lot of people are using to write with outside of text messages, in letters and even in school work, (I have seen this with my own eyes) - yuck!

Back to the subject in hand - I would get your brother the cheapest mobile that isn't going to give him radiation poisoning. You can't give kids everything they want.
