Could you list all the apps you are using. Various people are having problems with Tracker 3 on the P900 (I seem to be lucky with this so far). Hopefully someone may spot an app that may be the source of your restore problems (restore is only needed for P900 c: drive apps in reality).

Edit: I am assuming that you are not trying to restore data that was orignally backed-up using a P800 - a full restore will cause faults with your P900

No nothing backed up from a P800.

APPS

Tracker 3
QuickOffice
PDF+
Mobi pocket reader 4.5
uiqreader
Appforge(on p900 cd)
DateMateV1.00
FileManager
FlashPlayerV0.4.10
HandyDatesV2.0
HandyDayV5.0
HandyExpenseV2.00
HandySafeV3.50
SManV1.2
StackerV1.0
SwitcherV1.5
UnrealPlayerV2.0

Game

All the MGS titles
plus Vrally , geopod

Can anyone spot the bug?

The phone would work fine. I would backup all the data and restore without a problem. Then i would install all these programs. Once I would finish then the battery would go crazy. I wouldnt be able to access Contacts and Calander when the flip was closed, and of course the battery life.
YOu have see me bitching about this on my other posts.

Ok so the only solution which came to mind was to master format the P900. I do that and still have problem. So i try to replace the C: with the last know good backup of it. And it has one file resricted that cannont be replaced. So I have no hoice but to skip that file. and P900 still has all the problems stated.

Thats why you have see me bitching about the Service Menu format function. I'm taking a guess that one of those programs is to blame. But i have no Idea which one

I have seen reports of problems with Sman and Appforge on the P900 (please see the other threads here and at www.my-symbian.com) so I suggest you leave those for now. Why do you need Stacker as you are installing apps on the Duo? Try not to use Stacker as well.

I have a background in s/w development and my recommendation would be as follows:

1. Obtain the latest version of each app (also check that it is okay for the p900)

2. Install one app at a time and see which app is causing problems

To be honest, I think its either Tracker 3 or appforge

I notice this problem on the first phone right after i installed appforge.

But the appforge i used was the given on the cd for the P900

Have a look at this extensive thread at my-symbian about problems with the AppForge on the P900 CD

Edit:

Also quote from Droll on Sman

"BTW, for users who've had problems installing/uninstalling SMan on the p900 (with some weird error about something being In Use and cannot be removed), refer to the following my-symbian link -> http://www.my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11589

I installed Appforge on my P800 and wished I had never bothered. Its completely useless and the programs that need it to run are usually tripe anyway, I haven't found a single one I want to use yet.
Appforge is difficult to remove, it leaves various files on your phone and is an absolute bugger to get rid of. I won't let it anywhere near my P900.

New phone and no battery problems. Very Impressed with the 4 hour and still at 94% with BT on.

I want to see if its a firmware problem with the P900. So I posted a list on http://groups.msn.com/P900/faultyfirmwarep900.msnw (I was made a manager) and I want to see if theres is a direct relation to this or if it is a lucky packet.

@Jah

What do you have installed and what are there versions.

I have the following installed on the Duo card:

- Tracker V3.1
- QuickOffice V1.08
- Mobipocket 4.7
- Opera V 6.2
- Projekt (trail, will buy soon)
- Handy Bank V 1.1
- Handy Safe V 3.5

On the c: drive I have

- Pocketop IR driver (beta)
- EziTap V 1.01
- Task Manager V1.0

No games (I know I'm boring!)

Hope that helps.

Great news - I'm happy for you.

Why not try to install a few at a time, avoiding AppForge. Keep testing to see how the P900 performs?
