That's common knowledge...At least to those that understand how memory registers work. I don't believe there is a device that displays the reported max memory bank.
The poster could have been exaggerating about the numerical number shown as a way to express his/her point on the memory size.

Shouldn't the question be: Where is this firmware available? Or how has anyone obtained receipt of it? I did get confirmation of a released firmware, but as to how a salesman got a log of it I don't know.. From what I had posted earlier Memory Stick manufacturers have concured that it is plausible that devices could be modified to accept PRO format through firmware revision.. So we know its not a hardware limitation as some may have suggested.. I do know the partioned banks on one memory stick is possible right now, but we can wait and see....

Just came back from Funan... BAD BAD NEWS... cos first of all, I was told by the sales staff there that Sony Gallery in Funan doesn't even carry 512MB of Pro Duo till date so how can they be showing it to someone on the P900. Second of all, the firmware of that P900 (yes, there's only 1 in the showcase) is PDA R1A05 and CDA R1A04, which is an old old firmware, so how can this firmware be dubbed latest? Can some other Singaporeans who read this thread help to verify again with Sony Gallery, say maybe this weekend, just to triple ensure?
@heretikz87,
care to explain the above?
Cheers

... I tend to do a little background work on a newish poster with a BIG BREAKTHOUGH claim to fame & if you read all his other posts in the link below, you will notice this kid doesn't even know that applications bought for your phone are dependant on the IMEI nuumber to allow the install.......so it appears we are dealing with an idiot.

I think if there is really any break through an DUO breakthroughs it will more likely come from Japan.... Remember the 128mb DUOs were released in Japan a good 3 months before it was released anywhere else... Besides the press release on the DUO PROs came from Japan just a few months ago... The "Movie" memory sticks as they dubbed them are expected to encapsulate mobile phone products...
I always question the integrity of sales reps... They have to claim to know a lot to sell you very little for a big price.....
