i find it interesting how people expect to be rewarded for doing the right thing, and yet are amazed when people complain about them doing the wrong thing. you should have returned it (or better still never taken it) because it was
the right thing, not because you had to be convinved otherwise.
at least you had the moral fibre to 'fess up, even if it took a while.

i'd pay that if you actually took responsibilty and admitted your theft to the manager, but anonymous admissions on the internet aren't all that binding.
and don't give me any of that 'it's hard to do the right thing' crap. honesty is the easiest thing in the world - it doesn't even require the effort it takes to think of a lie.
@ universal: so would i, but you can't be too harsh when it comes to self-preservaion.
