i thought i read somewhere that the camera was better on the t630 than the t610? or is it identical?
is there actually any differences? what is the fw version?

Yes it's better. It has some rezinsing program to make the pictures bigger but with the same resolution. And the overall performance of the T630's camera is better then the T610's.

I was surprised myself too finding it today in one of the biggest electronic chains in Greece and i ve heard there is in small stores as well. Maybe running out of z600 stock they didn't want to miss any sales and released 630 a bit earlier!!!!

does anybody know how many MB of memory the T630 has? my biggest frustration in a T610 is the 2MB memory.

I dont like the way the "square of light" around the joystick......i like the T610 design much better.

i just held a T630 in my hand this afternoon and got quite depressed. i really wanted to buy one so i could retire my T68. i know that technically, it is an improvement on the T610 and a little bit on the Z600 but that casing just looks awful! when you see it lined up on a display case with a bunch of other phones, you easily mistake it for one of those cheap and tacky phones from finland!!!
the T610 and Z600 have such a well-made and high-end feel to them, i am clueless as to why SE did this to the T630... ah well, unless someone is able to change the case for that of a T610, i guess i will end up getting the Z600...
