P800 came out of the case I bought (Krusell flip-case) about 3 weeks after I bought it last summer.
Because the case hangs upside-down from the clip, and there's nothing securing the bottom in, it did a backflip out of the case and the phone blasted apart on a concrete parking lot. I invented a lot of new curses on the spot, and was pretty pissed at the design of the Krusell case for not having any method of securing the bottom of the phone.
Luckily aside from a small nick in the bottom of the phone by the microphone port, nothing else was damaged and it immediately powered-up when I put the battery in and replaced the cover. I'm very happy with the build-quality.
I modified the Krusell case and put a band of black fabric-elastic in the bottom to hold the phone securly in place. That said, the clip-socket on the back of the case has broken (the piece molded into the case that the clip slides into), so I'm onto a different case now anyway.

After hearing all those stories, I either want to glue it to my hand (which will happen with or without glue) or get insurance ... you can have insurance for a cell phone ?

I dropped mine just the once as I was taking it out of the Krusell case, It only fell from about waist height onto a laminate floor but the screen split into two.
No other marks and it is currently back to SE to be repaired......its insured thank god!
It was my fault but it was not a hard fall....I have dropped my old T68 loads of times even down the stairs and other than a few battle scars it works fine.
Si
The worst thing is the phone that has been loaned to me until my baby is back........a No**a 1100

I've dropped mine 4times I believe latest yesterday, fortunately it was in the carry case so there arent much damage to the phone, the headset has also been through some rough treating it went from stereo to mono in a few days, it started with me stepping on it, then i lost it while running(and stepped on it) then it went mono

And yesterday I jammed the door on it while driving and didnt notice, so I were dragging it after the car, then the wire broke of so it looks like a regular mono headset
