You can upload it to PC using IrDA or Bluetooth, I already try to send to my Palm m505 using Bluetooth and it's Ok.

Dear Juming,

apa kabar? (aku Setenga [half] orang Indonesia).

You were talking about 640 x 480 x 3 for the resolution. But I'm not convinced you should do it times 3.

Example: A picture of 640 x 480 has 640 pixels horizontal and 480 pixels vertical. What I learned when I was 7 yrs old was:

If you have a square with dots, and you want to know how many dots are in it, multiply the amount of horizontal dots with the amount of vertical dots.

So in this case it's 640 x 480 = 307200

Ok, on your monitor every pixel is made of 3 tiny pixels (Red, Green and Blue). But that's different.

Cheers...

Thanks for the opinions!

I'm still laughing at the person who claimed that the MCA-20 takes better pics than a 2.3 megapixel camera! Becuase my Ixus can take pics up to 1600x1200 dpi! If your MCA-20 really can do that, I would buy it in a second!

Anyway, I don't think it is worth the money, but thats only my opinion! It's fun, but not useful for me!

no comparison to the 2.3 megapixel digital cameras from Sony pleeeeze give me a break

Hello Owen

Kabar baik, nice to chat with you, anyway here the explanation about why must be multiplied by 3.

All resolution is standarise for 256 color or 8 bit, (read it 2^8) but since it is 16 million color (true color or 24 bit) then it need 2^24 to be make 16777216 possible color option, so since every JPG picture can display more than 256 color (usually the color itself not reach 24 bit, but the pallete is using the 24 bit) then it need more memory to perform that one, just remember since 2^24 is equal with (2^8)^3 then it need 3 times more memory.

For example your PC's VGA card, it can only perform maximum color (24 bit) only in 640 x 480 resolution if you have only 1 MB memory, and if you have 2 MB memory it can display up to 800 x 600 in 24 bit, why ? since 800 x 600 x 3 = 1440000 bytes, but you cannot display to 1024 x 768 in 24 bit since it need 1024 x 768 x 3 = 2359296 bytes, but you still can show 1024 x 768 in 16 bit (Hi Color) mode since it only need 1024 x 768 x 2 = 1572864 bytes.

Yes it's the term of monitor, but in photographic, you need to make pallete for that, and the size of pallete will be like that also, you need to provide all palette even you're not use it at all, anyway some new technique can perform to reduce, and it found on some new Digital Camera, that's why some people can get their image more bigger even the memory theoritically not possible to cover it up.

I tried it yesterday, for a short while, in a Vodaphone Store. (The salesman was really nice, it was actually him who asked if I would try it) Anyway it looked cool, he took a pic. of me but I didnt had an mail client in my phone so unfortunately I wasnt able to see the pic. in a computer. 2490SEK (260 ) Was their price! Thanks for all the reply's!

I don't think I'll get it, since I allready have a small and powerful digital camera (Canon Ixus V)! But it is probably fun to have it with you, if you just want to get a fast snapshot! If the resolution get better when new cameras come along, I'll probably buy one!
