there's a couple on ebay right now for around £33.95 which isn't bad as it works out under £40. I would be very surprised if this group buy idea would work out cheaper as there will only be around 50 or 60 of us actually willing to do it, no?

You'd be surprised what a sales person will do for 60 sales at one time!

The first step is to call a supplier and see how much we can save from doing a group buy. Plus how many people is needed for a group buy.
Then start a list of people who are interested.
Otherwise I can see this thread getting very long and much happening.

I just received my P900 today (Carphonewarehouse/Vodafone made me an offer I could not refuse £199.99 for P900 & 6 months half price line rental, saving £90 on rental, but I had been with them for over 2yrs, sometimes, not always, loyalty does pay!).
Back to the topic in hand, just bought 128MB of the new type Memory Stick Duo (high speed access, i.e. pro speeds), although I am not interested in this offer right now, I maybe latter, so I am hoping that I am just helping others, this site has help me alot. This is where I obtained mine for £50.52 all inclusive (including UK delivery).
http://www.offtek.co.uk/memor[....]e=5&subcat=63&source=GoogleMS#
Ofcourse, the 10x increase in speed is only useful with a memory card reader/writer that can transfer files from the PC to the MemoryStick Duo at the faster speeds, i.e. with most USB 2.0 reader/writers this should be possible. Ofcourse, with the introduction of this higher speed the normal speed Duo's seem to be coming down in price. So I was thinking that you might make people aware whether it would be normal or faster speed Duo's you we looking at purchasing in bulk, as I said, not for me, I would not be be buying for a while now.
If, anyone is not aware of the differences, then see the Sony MemoryStick website here
http://www.memorystick.com/en/ms/variety.html#produo
Note, the one in question is called 128MB MEMORY STICK DUO MEDIA (MAGICGATE/HIGH/SPEED TRANSFER COMPATIBLE) product number MSH-M128A, the MSH prefix seems to indentify the faster speed.
Also, somewhere on the MemoryStick website it says, (1) SanDisk will be/are already manufacturing MS (even cheaper MS in future?); (2) some devices could via firmware upgrade be able to use MS Duo Pro directly, but not at the faster speed, just access to larger memory sizes but do not commit to which devices. I am hoping P900 will be one of those devices, which is why I eventually purchased the P900.
I hope this long message helped some people out there!
